Redefy and Not in Our Town cosponsor a Princeton Public Library program coordinated by the library’s Teen Advisory Board. The VOICES program will be Saturday, November 19 at 3 p.m. on the third floor.
Founded by Ziad Ahmed four years ago, Redefy is a Princeton-based international organization with the tagline “It’s time to rebel for something worth rebelling for.” It is committed “to defying stereotypes and redefining our perspectives positively.” Ziad is a board member at Not in Our Town Princeton. His most recent essay for the Huffington Post was published on November 9.

VOICES is a conversation series for teens who desire to voice their perspectives on current issues in society. If you care about current events, social justice, and voicing your opinions this is the event for you!
The topic of this meeting on November 19th will be A Debrief: The Role of Teen Activists in Tomorrow. This past week has left a lot of young people with many questions, concerns, and feelings, and this session of VOICES will serve as an opportunity for us to process our role in the future. Furthermore, it will give us an opportunity to ascertain our potential within civic engagement going forward, and allow us to contemplate how we can continue to advocate for justice. The conversation will be held in the third floor story room and will be a moderated discussion (by TAB/redefy leaders). This event is open to all high school students and we encourage everyone to come out!
