The Arts Council of Princeton, in collaboration with the Paul Robeson House of Princeton, presents a community event Commemorating Paul Robeson’s Birthday. The family-friendly “birthday party” will feature a historical overview by neighborhood historian Shirley Satterfield, detailing Mr. Robeson’s birth in Princeton and later activism in the civil rights movement. Baritone soloist Keith Spencer will perform a sampling of Robeson’s repertoire and highlight his successful career in show business. Attendees will enjoy a performance by the Liberian Women’s Chorus for Change, composed of renowned singers, dancers, and musicians, as they bring the power of Liberian traditional song to the forefront of efforts to make communities safe and strong. Attendees of all ages are invited to participate in collaborative community artwork and enjoy a slice of birthday cake courtesy of The Gingered Peach. This event is free and open to the public.  Make a reservation to attend.
