The more things appear to change the more they remain the same. The realities of the African American and Black experience historically has been interpreted, analyzed and reported by White scholars. Usually, White male’s misguided insight based on qualitative or quantitative analyses illustrating some observational patterns. These analogies did not weigh in the researchers implicit and explicit biases nor did the results take into consideration the oppressive institutional environments designed into the social fabric of normal hierarchical order like a web of barriers. African American and Black scholar’s that are knowledgeable about the systems of racist oppression must be heard to add value to the conversation.
