Ali Cobby Eckermann, one of Australia’s ‘Stolen Generation,’ the children who were taken from their indigenous birth parents and adopted into other families, will receive Yale University’s Windham-Campbell prize for poetry.  Noting that there are more Indigenous Australian children in the foster care system than ever, she says,”The insidious racism of this country needs to be addressed, and not by us.  We need more reconciliation than buying an Aboriginal painting and hanging it in your office.
