Minneapolis City Council voted to eliminate single-family zoning, allowing residential structures with up to three dwelling units in every neighborhood, changing government-sanctioned racial housing segregation.  While the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1917 that zoning based on race was unconstitutional, local governments across the nation achieved residential racial and class segregation by instituting single-family only zoning.  To read more, click here.
