In the quest to inspire community connections that spark ongoing relationships, Global Connections, Hopewell Valley Race & Diversity Discussion Group (HVRDDG), and the Global Peace Foundation will co-host an evening of community engagement catered by The Peasant Grill. This free event will be held on Friday, June 14 from 6:30 to 9pm at Timberlane Middle School and is suitable for adults and 11th and 12th graders.
The forum will include an in-depth look at the role of social media and facilitate meaningful discussions intended to build strong community partnerships that link individuals, families, communities, organizations, and agencies. With issues facing the community, such as social-emotional health, racism, and bullying, as well as public concerns about new development, cost of living, and political direction, social media can compound polarization and predominant contact with a tight-knit friend group can limit exposure to new people and ideas, explain the group in their press information.
Registration is required by June 10 to get headcount for this free program.
