Reparations. Because America was built on the backs of slaves. The historical exploitation of Black bodies and the structural exclusion of Blacks from benefiting or sharing in the very wealth they created for America were neither accidental nor incidental, but intentional and foundational. Since the consequences are still with us today, we must also be intentional and engage in conversations that explore ways in which our nation can begin to repair the wrongs of slavery, redress historical exclusions and oppression, and heal. Please join us at 7pm on Monday, July 1st, for our monthly Continuing Conversation on Race and White Privilege. These gatherings take place in the ground-floor Community Room of the Princeton Public Library, and all who are committed to dismantling racism and white supremacy are welcome to attend. |
