More states are trying to protect black employees who want to wear natural hairstyles at work

Jena McGregor‘s Washington Post article describes incidents of discrimination against African Americans, particularly women, who wear natural hairstyles.  Legislation explicitly banning race-based hair discrimination was signed into law in July, 2019 in California and New York.  New Jersey, Tennessee, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and other states have proposed similar legislation.  To read more, click here.
