In the spring of 2016, Not in Our Town Princeton in partnership with the Hun School and the Princeton Public Library, invited racial justice educator and author of Waking up White, Debby Irving, to speak. NIOT member Simona Brickers planned a series of discussions tied to her book. In place of a visit by Irving to the National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C., Rachael Flores, Director of Diversity and Multicultural Education, recorded an interview with Debby Irving. Irving mentions an educational plan Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr., founder of the White Privilege Conference, created with Irving, and Dr. Marguerite Penick-Parks. The “21-Day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge©” provides a structure and resources for self-education “to further your understanding of power, privilege, supremacy, oppression, and equity.” To access the plan, click here.
