The protests against police brutality come in the middle of an unprecedented pandemic that is disproportionately killing people of color, particularly black Americans because of higher levels of underlying health conditions that stem in part from stress caused by racism. This Monday night, the Princeton Council will consider a resolution asserting that racism is a public health crisis affecting our entire community and identifying a series of actions including assessments of internal policies and procedures to ensure racial equity is a core element of all municipal departments.
