Why We Fight: Voices from the Struggle for Health Justice will highlight activists and fighters of the past (and present) working to secure access to health care and treatment, advocates, and artists such as Dr. Sharrelle Barber (Professor at Drexel University and Coordinator of the Poor People’s Campaign’s COVID-19 Health Justice Advisory Committee); Staceyann Chin – award winning spoken-word poet, author, playwright, performing artist and LGBT rights political activist; and Martha Redbone (award winning Native & African American vocalist, songwriter, composer).  Our readers and performers will uplift voices such as Dr. Salvadore Allende; Essex Hemphill; Vito Russo; Loretta Ross and others.
