Free Teacher Training in African American History, Summer, 2021

The New Jersey Amistad Commission is holding its14th annual free Curriculum Institute for educators, administrators, and community stakeholders, August 16 – 20, entitled “Way Down South, Up North: The History Beneath Our Feet- Exploring the Remnants and Legacies of African American Peoples, Settlements, Established Communities and Institutions from the Formation of the East/West New Jersey Colony- Refuges of Agency and Locations of Hostility.”

Register today for the Amistad Commission Summer Curriculum Institute, which will be the 2nd virtual on-line course and which includes optional tours and in person visits to historical sites. The Institute will culminate with a live streamed historical performance on Friday, August 20th. We hope that you will join us August 16- 20th, 2021.
