Princeton High School is hosting the 17th annual Asian Festival at 7 p.m. in the New Gym on Friday, March 8. Culture and food stations will be open from 7 to 8 p.m. and student performances are from 8 to 9 p.m.
There is no admission fee and all members of the Princeton community are welcome to join the celebration.
The Asian Festival at Princeton High School is a collaboration of the Mandarin and Japanese language classes, Asian American Club, Chinese Club, Korean Club, Japanese Club, Bollywood Dance Club and Chai Club, providing students a chance to show their knowledge of culture and language. Most importantly, this event is a combined effort to share Asian culture with the community.
Geared toward participants of all ages, activities include Chinese Yo-Yo, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese musical instruments, cultural games, origami, Henna, paper plate rangoli and much more. Other festive displays, demonstrations, and activities will be presented throughout the evening.
Students will offer performances of Chinese lion and dragon dance, Japanese dance, K-Pop dance, Bollywood dance, Chinese Yo-Yo, Chinese musical instruments, and a colorful fashion show featuring clothes from many Asian countries. Students will also prepare Asian food which will be available for purchase in the PAC lobby.
