Celebrating the Power of African American History and Historic Sites in New Jersey

This year is a momentous opportunity to celebrate and look to the future of African American history in New Jersey and the country.

We are pleased to invite you to our free online webinar on February 25th, 2026 at 6:30pm, dedicated to sharing the work of the New Jersey Historical Commission, the African American History Program and the New Jersey Black Heritage Trail in promoting the powerful, historical legacy of African American history in New Jersey.

2026 marks the 100th anniversary of national commemorations of Black history and the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It also marks more than three decades of The New Jersey Historical Commission’s Afro-American History Program (1983-2009 and 2021- Present).

Your participation is important to us, as we continue to preserve, honor and share opportunities to highlight the contributions of African Americans in New Jersey.
