New Jersey Reparations Council Economic Justice Committee

December 12 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

New Jersey is one of the wealthiest states in the country – but that prosperity isn’t shared equally among its residents.

At a time when addressing racial economic inequities is more important than ever, the Economic Justice Committee of the New Jersey Reparations Council will discuss how New Jersey’s staggering racial wealth gap can be traced back to slavery and other racist policies like redlining and more, leading to today’s inequalities – some of the worst in the country.

The virtual conversation will take place on Thursday December 12 at 6:30 p.m. and will be the Council’s eighth public session.

NJISJ invites the public to participate and share their views.  To join the session via Zoom and share commentary live on economic justice in New Jersey, register here. Commentary will be limited to three minutes.
