Fire Shut Up in My Bones is an adaptation of Charles M. Blow’s harrowing memoir of the same name. The story follows a young Charles as he navigates adolescence and struggles to overcome a life of trauma. Composed by Terence Blanchard, this was the first opera by a black composer performed at the Metropolitan Opera since its founding in 1883.
