In the summer of 2019 the Witherspoon-Jackson Neighborhood Association, launched the first ever Witherspoon-Jackson Welcome Weekend. At the initial planning meeting two young film makers introduced themselves to the group. They expressed an interest in both the welcome weekend and the history of the neighborhood and the rest as they say…is history. During this festival, in the times leading up to the weekend, and on and off over the past several years, these two young, local artists, Nick Kochmann, and Patrick MacDonald, worked on a documentary about the history of the neighborhood using the activities that took place over the welcome weekend, as a backdrop.
The film will have its premier showing at the Nassau Film Festival this Saturday, May 20th at the Garden Theater at 1:00 PM.
